faux flowers, re-decorating and the rapture.

Well it's past 6 pm EST here, and I'm still alive. No big deal. Anyways, I've been trying to be more optimistic lately, because I think optimism is a great thing, but it's really hard. My life is kind of confusing right now, what with all the drama going on (coughboyscough). Today I went to Michael's and Home Depot with my mom. I got some pretty faux flowers to brighten up the house. I put them in glass bottles, so they would look more Earthy. I also got a Vanilla scented candle at Michaels, yummy!
ps - I made 2 accomplishments: surviving "the rapture" and finishing angry birds! awww yeeeah!

a true friend can always make you feel better.

This weekend, I hung out with one of my best friends for 25+ hours! We had a Glee marathon (which means we barely got any sleep), went to the zoo, had lunch at the Cheesecake factory, had a Starbucks run, and even got inspired to petition our neighborhood for a new park. Even though I am dead tired right now, I feel good because I just needed some time with a friend after such an exhausting week.

tgif // home made lip scrub

Thank God it's Friday! Seriously. I have had such a hectic week. I had some drama going around in school, which I did not let slide, and not only that, but it was also academically exhausting. Anyways, my mood has picked up because all of the items except 1 (which is still processing) I ordered from amazon.com are here! I'll post some pictures tomorrow, because my camera battery died :( However, I did get around to trying my hand at a recipe for a home made lip scrub. I found it on Hayley's blog. I never do things home made, because I'm simply too lazy, but I did this one because I had all the ingredients. Overall it turned out very nice and my lips feel very smooth!

Ingredients: Vaseline (petroleum jelly), regular sugar, a spoon, q-tips, and
vanilla extract if you want flavor in it.

spring state of mind.

I've officially started to get into the swing of spring. I've tried my hand at spring cleaning (which pretty much failed), but I have been re-vamping my wardrobe for the warm weather. Lately I've been wearing a ton of skirts, and light colors. I ordered this new polish from China Glaze on amazon.com called For Audrey, and I must say, I simply love it! It's a gorgeous teal color, and really easy to apply! I've also been in need of some new spring perfumes, all I've been using is Love Spell by Victoria's Secret. I also got a new issue of Teen Vogue, very nice!

opi nail lacquer review.

    Rate: 3/5 stars
Price: Around $8 for 0.5 oz.
I have never used OPI or any nail lacquer before, so I guess I could consider myself a newbie when it comes to applying it, but this did not really work well for me. I first tried it as part of a french manicure, that didn't work, it spread over the pink part of my nails, and I ended up wiping it off. Then, I thought I could use it just by itself. The brush is very wide, so it's kind of hard to get a good clean coat all over the nail, and it is very liquid-y and thick, kind of like a gloopy substance. I think that even though it is a pretty shade, it will only really work if you apply a few coats of it, and only if the previous coat(s) are completely dry. Overall, I've used better polishes in this color, for half the price.

happy mother's day!

Happy mother's day! I woke up around noon today, so I missed the opportunity for making a mother's day breakfast, but I still made some cookies and croissants + my mother's favorite foods for a lovely mother's day brunch :) I am not a chef, so it took me around an hour to accomplish the whole feat. I had a lot of sugar today, which is fine with me.

^ A raspberry elegance cake I got from the supermarket, yum!

happy may day!

Happy May Day to all my lovely followers! May is one of my favorite months. I'm not sure why, maybe it's because of all the pretty flowers, or because I only have a month of school left?! :) Anyways, I kept my promise to you guys to post more often! Today I went shopping with my mum, we hit up Forever21. I was in need of some new skirts, tops and sandals for this warm spring weather! These pictures don't really do them justice, but hey, I'm just glad I found the energy to take some pictures....
